TCN announces four-day power outage in Lekki, Ikoyi, and other Lagos areas
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a four-day power outage affecting parts of Lagos State, including Lekki, Ikoyi, Jakande, and surrounding areas.
In a statement released on Wednesday, TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, said the planned outage would take place on October 11, 12, 18, and 19, 2025, lasting eight hours daily—from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
According to TCN, the blackout is necessary to carry out preventive maintenance on key transmission lines. Maintenance work will be conducted on the Ajah/Lekki 330 kV line on October 11, and on the Ajah/Alagbon 330 kV line on October 12, 18, and 19.
“The maintenance on the Ajah/Lekki 330 kV line will enable TCN’s contractor to install a transformer protective system on the 300MVA 330/132/33kV power transformer at the Alagbon Transmission Substation,” the statement read.
Mbah added that TCN’s maintenance team will also replace corroded insulators on critical towers of the Ajah/Alagbon and Ajah/Lekki transmission lines.
The company apologised for any inconvenience the exercise may cause electricity consumers in the affected areas.
