Teams to watch as UEFA Champions League resumes

The champions league resumes tonight and here is a quick rundown of some of the biggest teams to watch out for. Who’s out and who’s in?

Liverpool v Red Bull Salzburg

Liverpool may be champions of Europe but they were handed a comfortable 2-0 defeat by Napoli a forth-night ago at Naples. The champions will be looking to bounce back from that defeat when they play on a familiar turf at Anfield.

The Premiere league leaders are without Joel Matip and Xherdan Shaqiri for fitness reasons. Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp says he want his team to be most “uncomfortable” team to play against in the UCL. Goalkeeper, Alisson is also a doubt for Wednesday tie.

“With Shaqiri, I don’t know,” he says. “He’s not ready for tomorrow but I don’t know how it looks at the moment. He is still in the hands of the medical department.

“With Joel it’s not a big one, but it’s big enough not to take a risk tomorrow night.”

Liverpool hosts Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.

“I have followed them for a long time and I have a pretty good side as well. We want, and it’s always our target, to be the most uncomfortable opponent in world football and if we are that tomorrow, it’s not easy for Salzburg as well. We shouldn’t forget that.”

Tottenham v Bayer Munich

Tottenham will be without new signings Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon when they host Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Mucnich on Tuesday night. Lo Celso picked up an hip injury on international duty while Ryan has been struggling with a hamstring problem.

Coach Mauricio Pochettino will have no further injury worries aside those which means that the 2018/2019 finalists should have a strong squad against visiting Bayer Munich who are in their own rights strong favourites to win the competition. Tottenham has struggled away of recent but this is a home match so they should be fine.

The Bayern team were reported to have departed Munich and en route to London Monday morning to the team is in London and ahead of the match.

Harry Kane would be looking to register in this one same as Robert Lewandowski. This two are arguably the best Center Forwards around right now.

Real Madrid v Club Bruge

Zinedine Zidane has left out the Welsh, Gareth Bale out of the squad for today’s match despite starting against Atletico Madrid in the weekend. Eden Hazard has had three starts in La Liga so far and so far has registered neither a goal nor an assist but the coach is backing him to really find his footing and deliver performances that live up to his number 7 jersey. Hazard will make his first start in the champions league for the La Liga leaders on Tuesday night.

Madrid lost their first match against Paris Saint-Germain and will be looking for a win against Club Bruge to get things running in the Champions League.

Galatasaray v Paris Saint-Germain

Brilliant forward Kylian Mbappe is aback from a injury spell and will be available for French champions Paris Saint-Germain when they travel to Galatasaray on Tuesday night. Mbappe played 30 minutes in their 1-0 defeat of Bordeax in the weekend. Neymar will serve the second of his two match ban and will be available for PSG’s next match.

The French champions lead group A after beating Real Madrid in the first match.

Manchester City v Dinamo Zagreb

Manchester City entertain Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night on the back of a back-to-back win for them in the Premiere League. The Cityens currently sit second on the EPL table. City are pretty much unchanged with Fernandinho still playing from the defence with the absence of John Stones and Aymeric Larporte.

Juventus v Bayern Leverkusen

Aaron Ramsey may get his champions debut for the Old Lady tonight when Juventus file out against Bayern Leverkusen. The 28-year old transferred from Arsenal in the summer on a free transfer and will be rearing to go for his new club. He pairs the likes of five-time World Best Player, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Paulo Dybala or Gonzalo Higuaín.

Locomotiv Moscow v Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeoni takes his Atletico team to Russia in a play Locomotiv Moscow. Atletico will be aiming a return to winning ways after the domestic derby draw against Real Madrid.
