One cup of water has Zero Calories. One gallon of water has Zero calories. One tanker load of water, has Zero calories. But what you get from this zero calories is nothing short of amazing.

Clean, natural water is basically crystal clear and it has its own unique taste contrary to popular opinion. It is less mysterious than other foods because it is seen every day and everywhere in the form of rain, and in lakes, rivers, streams, falls and it also flows out of our faucets.

Science credits water as being the reason for the life on earth. All creatures on earth, man included, rely on water more than any other substance to stay alive.

We can go longer without food than without water, and virtually every other nutrient requirements are impacted by the amount of water we take.

Research has shown that drinking water helps maintain proper blood pressure, improves mental performance and helps regulate digestion. The health benefits of water could be summed up in three basic categories:

The fluid nature of water:
Water is lubricant. It keeps nutrients and metabolic substances flowing and moving around in the body. It also lubricates our joints and protects our body parts from damage, surrounding them in shock-absorbing fluid.

Water is solvent for many body chemicals, hence it is used in the transportation of many substances such as oxygen, hormones, enzymes e.t.c and in many chemical reactions taking place all over the body.

It plays the role of a Thermostat: Water keeps the body temperature stable and normal. It plays an important role in keeping you alert and it is also essential in making ur brain work better.

According to the UN World Water Development, every individual needs about 25-50 litres of water free from harmful contaminants everyday. We need about 6-8 glasses of water a day to replace our lost water.

As much as we need water in our system, tap water may not necessarily be safe for drinking in some places. Tap water is treated with Chlorine, and though chlorine helps kill water-borne germs which cause typhoid, dysentery and cholera, medical studies have shown that chlorine could cause bladder and rectal cancers.

Therefore distilled water is the safest to consume, so before you fill your glass with that tap water, THINK AGAIN!!!
