Thiago chills in Los Angeles after missing Spain’s World Cup squad

Liverpool midfielder, Thiago Alcantara appeared to have put the disappointment of missing Spain’s 2022 World Cup squad behind him, visiting the Staples Center to watch the Los Angeles Lakers beat the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night.

The 31-year-old was at the stadium in the company of his wife, Julia Vigas.

Thiago was among the veterans passed over by coach Luis Enrique in his squad for Qatar 2022, who appeared keen on striking a balance between experience and youth.

Manchester United’s David De Gea and Paris Saint-Germain’s Sergio Ramos also missed the Mundial.

However, Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Barcelona duo of Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets were lucky to make the cut.

La Furia Roja will play their first 2022 World Cup Group E game against Costa Rica on Wednesday, November 23, second against Germany on Sunday, November 27, and third against Japan on Thursday, December 1.
