Three Migrants Drown as Boat Capsizes

Two children and an adult, drowned and seven disappeared after their boat capsized Tuesday while crossing a river from Turkey to Greece.

The inflatable boat rolled over in a river known as the Evros River which runs from Turkey to Greece the Dogan news agency said.

Three corpses were retrieved that of a woman, 37 years of age, and two children aged 10 and approximately 6.

The deceased woman was from Turkey the nationality of the others was not disclosed.

Three Pakistanis have been arrested due to alleged charges of them acting as guides for the crossing.

in 2016 the Eu and Turkey struck a deal which entailed reducing the intake of migrants to Turkey across the dangerous sea.

Aid groups have stated that the number of migrants attempting to cross the Evros has in fact increased
Turkish nationals, on the run trying to avoid the crackdown that followed the 2016 failed coup, also seek asylum in Greece.
