Three UNIBEN Lecturers Lose Their Lives In Tragic Road Accident

Three lecturers of the University of Benin, UNIBEN, have been reported dead.

The lecturers were reported to have lost their lives in a tragic motor accident which occurred along the Benin-Agbor expressway, at Abudu village, Edo State last Thursday.

Reports of the crash between two commercial Toyota Hummer buses held that twenty seven persons were involved in the tragic accident which claimed the lives of twenty two people while five others were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The three UNIBEN lecturers identified as Prof. Lucky Okunrobo, Head of Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Dr. Godwin Joseph, acting Head of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Dr. Saturday Idemudia, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology of the Department of Pharmacy were said to be returning from Awka, the Anambra State capital.

The university management confirmed the tragic loss in a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relation Officer, Mr. Micheal Osasuyi.
