Renowned Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson recently voiced his concerns about the perceived lack of support from musicians for the Nigerian film industry. In a post on his X handle, Egbuson expressed his desire for more collaboration between musicians and actors.
“I really wish musicians supported Nollywood the way we support their music but that’s a conversation for another day,” Egbuson wrote on Sunday.
The Nigerian film and music industries share a close relationship, with numerous musicians featuring in Nollywood movies and several actors releasing their own music. Over the years, collaborations between actors and musicians have become common, with some actresses even appearing as vixens in music videos.
Despite these collaborations, Egbuson believes there is still a disparity in the level of support musicians provide to Nollywood compared to how actors support the music industry.
