Tinubu Urges Patience with Reforms, Says “Toughest Days Are Behind Us” in Eid-el-Kabir Message

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country is moving past its most difficult economic period, urging citizens to remain patient as his administration’s reforms begin to yield positive results.
In a statement marking the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, President Tinubu acknowledged the sacrifices Nigerians have made over the past year, reiterating that his government’s economic policies were designed to achieve long-term prosperity.
“I assure you that the toughest days are behind us. We are entering a new era of renewed hope and prosperity that we promised two years ago,” Tinubu said in his message. “We may not yet be where we aspire to be, but I urge all Nigerians not to lose hope. Let us hold on to our faith and persevere.”
He emphasized that the objective of the ongoing reforms was not merely to stabilize key economic indicators, but to transform lives and lay the foundation for sustainable development. “There are no quick fixes, but we are committed to repairing the foundations of our economy once and for all,” the president noted.
Reflecting on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir, Tinubu highlighted the values of sacrifice, devotion, and compassion, calling on Nigerians to embody these principles beyond the festive season. “Eid reminds us to show resilience, tolerance, and dedication to the progress of our beloved country,” he stated.
He also expressed sympathy over recent flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which claimed lives and caused significant damage. The president called for prayers for the victims and urged Nigerians to support recovery efforts in the affected community.
“As we observe this Eid, let us continue our prayers for our front-line officers, who risk their lives for our safety and security,” Tinubu added, calling for national unity and compassion across faith and social lines.
He concluded with a message of hope: “May the joy and blessings of Eid-ul-Adha multiply in our lives and in the life of our great nation.”
