Toyin Abraham Opens Up on Divorce from Adeniyi Johnson, Shares Why Her Current Marriage Works

Popular Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has finally revealed the real reason behind her divorce from actor Adeniyi Johnson, stating that her family had expressed serious reservations about the union before it even began.

In a heartfelt interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Abraham disclosed that her family had sought divine guidance and warned her against marrying Johnson, but she went ahead with the relationship despite their concerns.

“My family prayed and had serious doubts, but I didn’t listen,” Abraham said, reflecting on her short-lived marriage that lasted around two years.

Now happily married to fellow Nollywood actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, Abraham spoke glowingly about the strength and serenity of her current relationship, describing it as deeply rooted in faith, love, and mutual respect.

“In real life, he is very calm, he is a prayer warrior. I come from a Christian home, so my family prayed again—and this time, God revealed he was my husband,” she shared.

The actress explained how her bond with Ajeyemi evolved organically through shared spiritual values and constant support, ultimately leading to marriage and the birth of their two children—a boy and a girl.

“I started getting fond of him. Whenever he went to work, I’d tag along. Over time, I didn’t care what people said. We met each other’s families, had a quiet introduction, and soon after I got pregnant,” Abraham added.

She expressed deep gratitude for her husband, stating:

“Trust me, I married one of the best. I won’t say the best—because there are marriages I look up to—but mine is one of the best.”
