Track Herdsmen, Not Notable Nigerians – Shehu Sani Tells FG

The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani has derided plans by the Federal Government to monitor social media posts of notable Nigerians.

He described the plot as a case of misplaced priority.

Recall that the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali had lamented increase in hate speeches across the country, calling on security agencies to begin monitoring the social media posts of notable Nigerians to check the trend.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle on Friday evening, Sen. Sani said the resources that will be committed to such venture could be better utilised on apprehending criminals, including killer herdsmen.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) senator said, “If the energy,resources and time that will be dispensed in monitoring the social media labyrinth by the state security apparatus, will be deployed in targeting and tracking kidnappers, militiamen, Terrorists, Herdsmen, Bandits and Human traffickers, we will be safer.”
