Tragedy: Five killed as man sets ex-girlfriend’s home on fire in Ondo

The police in Ondo state has launched a manhunt for one, Deji Adenuga, who set fire on the family home of his former girlfriend on Tuesday.

The incident, which occurred on Adetuwo Street, Igbodigo town, in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, left five people dead, while three others are currently on admission at the Trauma Centre, Ondo town, Ondo State.

Herald Nigeria learnt that trouble began when the girl in question, named Titi, called off his relationship with Adenuga.

In retaliation, the suspect allegedly set the room where the family lived on fire, hoping to kill the girl alongside her family members. But Titi was not at home at the time the incident occurred.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Mr Femi Joseph, said security agents are on the trail of the suspect, who has fled the town after the act.
