Troops Kill 5 Insurgents, Rescue 180 Hostages From 7 Villages (Photos)

Troops of the 7 Division Garrison and 112 Battalion, assisted by some civilian JTF, in a mop-up operation have cleared 7 more villages as the ongoing clearance operations of Boko Haram-held territory continue in the North East.

The latest operations, part of Operation Lafiya Dole, were carried out in the villages of Menari, Bulamari, Zangebe, Maafa, Mijigine, Baale and Kaltaram, all in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.

In the operation that took place on Thursday morning, troops killed five insurgents and rescued 180 hostages and their cattle in Giltimari and Baale, PM News reports.
