A young lady in her final year of study at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State, has reportedly lost her life after a truck crushed her to death on Monday, 3rd of June, 2019.
According to reports, the sad incident occurred around the popular May Fair bus stop, where many students staying outside the campus reside.
The truck is said to have had a brake failure, forcing the driver into a panic mood that led to the accident.
Being an area densely populated by students, traders, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, and street urchins, an accident in the area is likely to incur casualties.
Sadly, the deceased, Chiwendu Linda, was about to wrap up her accounting course and was also at the last stage of her ICAN program.
Efforts to save her proved abortive as she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the University’s Teaching Hospital, OAUTHC.
