Trump Bans Travel Between US and Europe over Coronavirus Pandemic

President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has banned all travel between mainland Europe and the United States for the next 30 days due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Trump said the travel ban became necessary following the spread of the Coronavirus across the continent.

Although the travel ban will not come into effect until midnight, flights from the UK will not be affected during the period.

President Trump blamed the European Union for not acting quickly to stem the spread of the virus.

Trump further blamed Europeans for the “seeds” of cases being recorded in the United States, saying they were infected by European travellers.

Trump said the United States will monitor the situation closely to determine if the ban could be lifted sooner.

“We are marshalling the full power” of the government and private sector to protect the American people.” He said.
