The embattled Senate President Bukola Saraki has once again found himself in the middle of a huge scandal after he was named as a benefactor of the infamous Offa robbers by two more of the gang.
According to Channels Television, the Nigeria Police Force stated that Saraki is still being investigated and also revealed that two other suspects indicted him in their confessional statements on Wednesday.
Speaking to the Press, Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, said that the two suspects arrested were suspects in connection with the robbery and that in their confessional statements said that the Senate President was linked to their activities
According to the Police, the suspects disclosed that Saraki is their godfather and that they work as thugs for him, they also claimed that they even accompanied Senator Saraki to the palace of the traditional ruler of Offa, Olofa of Offa on a condolence visit after the robbery.
Saraki was earlier accused by 5 of the gang leaders, who said they worked as political thugs for him, but the Senate President denied these claims stating that he was a target of his political enemies.
One of the gang leaders, Akinnibosun, noted that while they were political thugs to Saraki, he had no idea of their activities in Offa, neither did he help them execute it.
