Two Reverend Sisters are currently being investigated by the Roman Catholic Church after it was discovered they were pregnant. The two sisters reportedly fell pregnant while they were on a missionary trip to Africa.

According to a report by The Sun, the reverend sisters were carrying out their separate charity assignments when the impossible happened. They both belong to the Catholic order of  Sicily in Italy.

One of the pregnant nuns discovered her pregnancy after she complained of severe stomach pains at the hospital.

The second nun who is a Mother Superior was on a mission working with “fallen women and their children” when she found out about her own pregnancy.

A source at the Roman Catholic Church who spoke to newsmen said “There is consternation at this news.

“It appears that both women were back in their home nations and obviously had some form of sexual encounter.

“An investigation has been launched; they both breached strict rules of chastity but the welfare of their children is uppermost.”

Although the church has commenced investigations into the matter, it would still prioritize the well-being of the expected children over the violations of the sacred vows from their mothers.

Recall Pope Francis had earlier spoken about the abuse in the Roman Catholic church, saying Some Reverend Fathers sexually abuse the nuns.
