UK Returnee meets with death on way home

Lagos-Ibadan expressway witnessed a gory scene yesterday morning as a United Kingdom returnee who opted to drive himself home met with an accident that claimed his life and left several others injured.

The Nigerian UK returnee was reported to have landed in the country in the early hours of yesterday met with his death on the popular Otedola Bridge.

The accident which was reported to have occured around 7:15 am on Saturday morning involved one blue coloured Hilux truck with registration number FST 356 XS and a truck with registration FKJ 519 CF.

The returnee’s brother was reported to have driven to the airport to pick him but on their way back, chose to drive himself

The Nigeria-based brother however survived the autocrash but was severely injured.

The General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Mr. Micheal Akindele confirmed the accident, adding that the timely response of the agency’s Emerged Response Team aided the rescue and survival a male adult and the evacuation of the deceased.

The cause of the accident was reported to have been overspending on the part of the blue colored Hilux driver.
