Aisha’s father Umar Ador, cousin to the presidential candidate in 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, and the PDP governorship candidate in the 2019 election in Adamawa State, wrote on his facebook that;

“I’m glad to inform all and sundry that my daughter, Aisha, has been released by her abductors. I collected her somewhere around Gwarimpa where they dumped her by the roadside. She is safe and sound. I thank you and all Nigerians for the support given to me during these trying hours. I appreciate that it”.

Although Umar Ador never mentioned if he paid any ransom or how much he paid to get back his daughter, it may be inferred from the statement made by a close relative to Umar, Amir Mustapha, that Umar Ador may have paid a sum of $15,000 in bitcoin to secure her release.

Amir Mustapha wrote;

“So kidnappers now accept ransoms in bitcoins?? This is alarmingly worrying. Yesterday, Dr Umar Ardo’s daughter, Aisha was kidnapped in Maitama, Abuja (sic) and he had to pay $15,000 in bitcoins just for her to be released. This country is heading for the rocks. God protect us all”, Mustapha, a lawyer wrote.
