UNIBEN First Class Student Commits Suicide

A 500-level Computer Engineering student of University of Benin (UNIBEN) identified simply as Adams has been found hanging on a rope in his room.

The student reportedly committed suicide in his room located in Ekosodin community, in the Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state.

According to The Punch, the student was at his department to submit an assignment on Thursday before heading back to his room.

Some of his friends had afterwards tried to reach him but could not do so as his door was locked from inside.

After his relatives were contacted, they forced his door open and discovered his lifeless body in the evening.

The university’s Public Relations Officer, Michael Osasuyi confirmed the incident.

“The 500 -level computer engineering student was discovered in his room at Ekosodin.

“He hung himself . His father came to see him and that was how it was discovered that he hung himself . The information that got to us was that he was a bright student , a first – class student,’’ Osasuyi told the The Punch.
