Tragedy struck at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) on Tuesday as the dead body of a 300-level student, Blessing Olajide, was found with bruises on her private part and mouth covered.
It was learnt that the incident occurred inside the victim’s room in the Tanke area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Olajide was a student of the Agricultural Science Department and hailed from Oke-Opin in the Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident.

He said that the remains of the deceased UNILORIN student have been evacuated for autopsy.
Okasanmi added that the police have commenced investigations to unravel the circumstances that led to the student’s death.
“A complaint was lodged at F’ Divisional Police Station of the discovery of the corpse of a student.
“Our men were mobilised to the scene and they evacuated the corpse and took it to the hospital for autopsy. We met her naked, bruises were noticed in her private part, her mouth was covered among others,” he said.
