Unknown Gunmen Abduct Nigerian Army Captain in Ondo

Unknown gunmen have abducted a Nigerian Army Captain in Ondo State on Wednesday.

The Army Captain identified as D Gana was abducted along Kabba – Auga Akoko expressway on his way from Abuja.

According to a report by theCable, the Army Captain was taken into the forests around Ibilo in Edo state by his captors.

The spokesperson for the 32 Artillery Brigade Akure, Ayorinde Omojokun also confirmed the incident to newsmen and said security operatives had been dispatched to rescue the Army officer.

The Police public relations officer for the Ondo state command, Tee-Leo Ikoro also stated that the victim was allowed to make a phone call to relatives demanding for N20 million as ransom.

The family members in turn contacted the Ikare-Akoko police command and informed them about the abduction.

Unfortunately, before a team of police detectives got to the area, he had been moved away from the place, but his car was recovered by our men,” he said.

He added that a team of police officers have been dispatched to rescue the Army Captain.
