Unknown gunmen have shot dead seven policemen on patrol along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Road, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Tuesday.
The attack, which sent motorists into panic, reportedly occurred as the policemen were on patrol.
The gunmen were said to have caught the policemen in a surprise attack and released a hail of bullets before escaping in their own vehicle.
The remains of the dead policemen were later ferried away in a police van.
The FCT Police Commissioner, Sadiq Bello, confirmed the incident, adding that the command would soon release a statement on the matter, The Punch reported.
