US company ends operations in Nigeria after being extorted by employees, contractors

The chairman of Dynamics Intelligence, Jenna Bourgeois, has announced that his US-based company which has been trying to build its operations in Nigeria, following the consistent acts of extortion by both employees and contractors.

Jenna made the rather sad announcement via his LinkedIn page, adding that any foreign organization with plans to start a business in the country should outsource such to Indians.

Dynamics Intelligence is a tech firm which seeks to provide productivity enhancement software and has partnerships with organizations such as Microsoft and Amazon.

With a specific focus on healthcare, government and retail sectors the organization had planned to train at least, 5,000 Nigerians on how to use Microsoft Technologies.

However, the company according to Jenna cannot function where there is there massive distrust.

He wrote, “Effective immediately, we will be closing our operations in Nigeria. Over the last year, we have faced numerous examples of employees and contractors extorting the company.

While we kept giving Nigerians a chance to gain skills and employment, we cannot run a company when we can’t trust the people who work for us.  “Any company interested in conducting business in Nigeria can reach out to us to learn how to avoid being scammed by technical resources.”
