A Sunday night Turkish Super Lig game between Galatasary and Trabzonspor ended in chaos after four Trabzonspor players were sent off for various offences.
However, unarguably the most dramatic of the red cards was the one issued to defender, Salih Dursun, who was sent off for issuing the ref the red card after it fell from his (ref’s) hands.
The referee had awarded an 87th minute penalty to Galatasary, which did not sit down well with the Trabzonspor players, considering that the two of their teammates had already been sent off.
While protesting the decision, one of the Trabzonspor players, Luis Cavanada pushed the ref and was given his marching orders.
Incensed, other Trabzonspor players crowded around the official in protest, and in the process his red card, which he had been holding after issuing it to Cavanada, fell from his hands.
Dursun then picked it up and proceeded to show it to ref, who quickly snatched it from him and sent him off. The game ended 2-1 in favour of Galatasary.
