A video has emerged of the moment a 17-year-old girl was gunned down during a violent confrontation at an illegal street racing event in Los Angeles.
The incident occurred early Sunday near the popular intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue.
In the video, a man that was later identified as Ramon Roque Monreal, 33, can be seen trading words with another man before shortly pulling out a gun.
It was not immediately clear if he intended to use the weapon or to scare off his opponent.
But before he could aim the weapon, another man wrestles him to the ground.
Amid the ensuing confusion, the handgun goes off, hitting the teenage girl, an innocent bystander.
LAPD Officer Luis Garcia disclosed that the teenage girl from Huntington Park died on the scene.
Police later said another man was seriously injured in the incident but would recover.
Detectives have arrested Monreal in connection with the incident.
He was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held in lieu of $3-million bail.
