Buhari on CNN

The President yesterday was on CNN discussing the Anti-corruption summit, the fight against corruption, the battle against Boko Haram and so on.

The President was quite candid on the state of affairs in the country and how he is battling the issue of corruption. He touched briefly on the David Cameron issue and said he wasn’t angry as Cameron was speaking privately at the time and was entitled to say things as he saw them.

On the topic of Boko Haram, the President stated that he had met with the parents of the girls  and he also admitted that he hadn’t seen the proof of life video himself and he argued that he wouldn’t have shown them the video to the parents as he didn’t want to raise hope indiscriminately in the parents of the girls.

He was quoted as saying “I saw the families as a group twice. The first time, they came to visit my wife. The second, they came as a group to see me, and the less I see them the better for my own emotional balance,”
