Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, while speaking on the floor of the Senate appealed to his colleagues to checkmate their children as most of them are on hard drugs which ends up destroying them.

He also disclosed that as a student, he observed that some of his classmates were on drugs, as well as some kids he met at the shrine.

“When I was in high school, a few of my classmates were on drugs. When I went to the shrine, I saw a lot of other kids on drugs. There is a reason why people get on drugs. The rich kids get on designer drugs because it makes them high and it makes them happy. Poor kids get on drugs because there is a level of hopelessness in their lives. They feel hopeless and when the drugs make them high, it gives them some kind of relief.

I urge my colleagues to go home. There is no way right now 109 colleagues of mine would go home and not find somebody in their household who is on drugs”.

Drugs are substances that can change how your body and mind work. Drugs of abuse are substances that people use to get high and change how they feel. They may be illegal drugs like marijuana, cocaine, or heroin. Or they may be legal for adults only, like alcohol and tobacco.

Medicines that treat illness can also become drugs of abuse when people take them to get high—not because they’re sick and following their doctor’s orders. People can even abuse cough or cold medicines from the store if they ignore the directions and take too much at one time.
