The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Osun State chapter, has joined the ongoing June 12 protest, contrary to the decision of the national leadership of the student body.

Recall that NANS President, Sunday Asefon, announced in a Friday statement that the body was pulling out of the nationwide protest because some unnamed politicians planned to hijack it.

However, NANS, Zone D (South-West) also on Friday distanced itself from Asefon’s announcement, insisting that the planned protest would go on.

Coordinator, NANS Zone D, Kowe Odunayo Amos; and Secretary-General, NANS Zone D, Giwa Yisa Temitope signed the statement countering the earlier one by Asefon.
