The Herald reported that a beauty queen was allegedly brutalized and raped over a Facebook post offering unsolicited advice to Hon. Danga to take care of his family and relatives.
Danga who felt insulted by the post allegedly organised thugs to apprehend the woman, beat her to a pulp and raped her repeatedly. According to the beauty queen, the Ex-Commissioner stripped her naked and made videos of her which he threatened to release on social media in the event that she exposes him.
The beauty queen identified as Elizabeth said,
“After making the post, they started attacking me on social media and he sent some guys to come and get me.
“On getting to me, they flogged me. He flogged me himself, stripped me naked and made a video of me threatening to post it when next I make any public comment about it.
“They also made me apologize that what I said about him was not true under duress. I had to do so because they were all over me.
“The commissioner also smashed my phone and destroyed it totally, saying that maybe I might have been recording what was happening or I have been recording before getting there.”
Online users who were angered by the blatant abuse of office took to social media to call out Gogi government. The public outcry led to Commissioner Danga’s suspension by Governor Yahaya Bello.
However, Human Rights Activist, Segun Awosanya whose Twitter handle is @segalinks has disclosed that Danga was brought in for questioning on June 2 and later released on the same day after he posted bail.
Segalinks made this disclosure in a thread of tweets;
“The Kogi Commissioner that allegedly battered and raped Ms. Elizabeth is now in Custody at the @PoliceNG FHQ after several attempts to obstruct justice by the Governor of the state. He is currently making a statement & we hope he will be detained & charged for his infringement.
“The pressure from the state Governor to have this man walk free despite his crime against humanity is unthinkable. We are calling on the @PoliceNG_CRU and the office of the IGP to ensure justice is served. He must be charged to court for his abuse based on evidence gathered.
“Elizabeth has gone through Hell. There’s been many threats to her life on the record & the @PoliceNG investigation have all the evidence.
“They made a call to Elizabeth telling her she can be killed by the whim of she refuses to let it go. They dictated several Facebook posts to her to make in order to be free from their crosshairs. The police have this on the record. That man must not be let off the hook. @SIAF_NG
“It took over two months to get Hon Danga to answer for his crimes at the FHQ due to obstruction from the Kogi State Governor. He is refusing to make statement and he is proving he is above the law. I have called the CP in charge of Intelligence to alert him the world is watching.”
