A lot of things can be said about Donald Trump, but it can never be said that he is not an entertaining President

From Twitter rants, to sound bites about celebrities and World Leaders, Trump has kept the world entertained and so it was again at the United Nations General Assembly where Trump was to give a speech.

The President got on the podium and boasted about the dominance of his administration, a claim that drew laughter from the world leaders and delegates in the room.

A mildly surprised Trump said he “Didn’t expect that, but that’s okay”

In a now common trope, the American President started the speech with a rousing appraisal of his administration. The only difference was that he was in a room full of cynical World leaders rather than optimistic MAGA hat-wearing loyalists.

“In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country,” he said

This remark drew scattered laughter from the room  with the President a little surprised

He added: “I didn’t expect that reaction, but that’s okay,”

What followed was more laughter but mixed with applause

“He has always been obsessed that people are laughing at the president. From the mid-’80s, he’s said: ‘The world is laughing at us. They think we’re fools,’ ” explained Thomas Wright, a Europe analyst at the Brookings Institution.

He added: “It’s never been true, but he’s said it about every president. It’s the first time I’m aware of that people actually laughed at a president. I think it is going to drive him absolutely crazy. It will play to every insecurity he has.”

Trump himself tried to play off the moment stating to reporters afterwards that the speech “was meant to get some laughter.”

But Trump’s fooling no one
