Viktor Gyökeres Set to Reject Manchester United for Arsenal Move

Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres is expected to turn down a move to Manchester United, favouring a switch to Premier League rivals Arsenal instead.
The Swedish international has attracted interest from several top European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window. Despite the prospect of reuniting with his current manager Rúben Amorim—who has been linked with the Manchester United job—Gyökeres reportedly prefers a move to North London.

Arsenal are actively in the market for a new striker and are currently weighing up moves for both Gyökeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development in a post on X:
“Viktor Gyökeres’ priority is to join Arsenal this summer despite calls from Manchester United in recent weeks. Gyökeres always an option amid Šeško talks with no deal sealed so far, Arsenal keep assessing the situation. United remain keen but believe deal now unlikely.”
Gyökeres had a standout season with Sporting, and his physical presence and goal-scoring prowess have made him a top target for clubs across Europe. Arsenal, looking to strengthen their attack after falling short in the title race, see the 26-year-old as a key addition.
A deal is yet to be finalised, but Arsenal appear to be in pole position as talks continue in the coming weeks.
