The bloody fight was reported to have started in the early hours of Friday morning and students of the Igbinedion University have been advised to stay indoors and away for their safety.

According to YNaija, the Okada community youths have set up roadblocks to restrict movement around the village as commercial motorcycles and vehicles continue to get torched in the ongoing fracas.

A student reporter of the news agency who reported that lectures have been suspended in the major institution located in the besieged area added that: “We heard gunshots earlier this morning. Classes have been canceled and students are advised to stay indoors. No word on the crux of the matter though”

The fight however is believed to have been caused by the death of a 65-year-old farmer who was alleged killed by the Fulani Herdsmen on his farmland which led to retaliation by torching the Fulani Herdsmen’s settlement in the village with fire.
