The showrunner for popular teenager’s Disney film, Wizard of Wavery Place confirmed that Alex Russo was bisexual and he wanted to do more with the relationship between the casts, Alex and Stevie’s relationship.
He revealed that although she wanted more out of their relationship, she couldn’t achieve more because the channel (Disney), didn’t allow it at that time.
When asked on a storyline he could have explored more on in the Wizard of Wavery Place pod, he revealed that while it wasn’t a thing at that time to infuse sexuality into Disney films, they got as close as they could to doing it. He said “We could have played more with the relationship between Stevie and Alex. We weren’t able to in that time, but it was pretty clear to all of us what that relationship was“
