We Have Our Strategy Against Terrorists – Defence Chief

Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim has said that news that has emerged that some countries are sponsoring terrorists against Nigeria must be treated with caution in order not to create confusion, saying that the security situation was being managed very well as the nature of such challenge was not a thing to be celebrated in the media.

Admiral Ibrahim said this at the weekend while fielding questions at the 5th edition of CISM Day Run held at Aguiyi Ironsi sports complex, Guards Brigade Headquarters, Asokoro, Abuja.

“We are keeping close to our chest what is being done .We are the victims and what you should note is that it pains this country badly especially when some elements begin to create an environment that appears not safe for foreigners.”

He said that there were some foreigners in the country who were trying to put the nation in a negative spotlight, hence their inclination towards bad actions at all times.

“We are doing something about it and in due course you get to know of the outcome,” the military chief said.

Meanwhile, sources at the weekend disclosed that the Presidency has directed that proactive measures such as raids on criminal hide outs and some notorious relaxation spots in and around Abuja.

In a related development, the Director General of Nigerian Civil Defense Corps, Ade Abolurin has said that a new strategy has been unfolded to reduce pipeline vandalism in the country.

“We are trying to keep the vandals off the track and the strategy is a signal for them to keep off Nigeria completely”

Abolurin who stated this at the weekend in Abuja assured that the Civil Defense was not limiting its search light on criminals to a particular zone but the whole country.
