A Turkish football club owner, Mehmet Seyit Ozkan, has registered his stand against importing players as he claims an offer of Barcelona FC star, Lionel Messi would be turned down. He claims he would never allow the player into his club even if offered for free.
The football club owner made the claim which has been viewed as ridiculous while expressing his satisfaction at his second division side Altinorduis.
Mehmet Seyit Ozkan maintained that he believes strongly in his own club’s academy and as such will reject one of the world’s most expensive players.
He said while speaking to the club’s website: “Even if Messi wants to play for Altinordu for free, I would definitely reject him.
“I believe in our young Turkish players. I’m giving chances to them. ”Our target is to be in the Super League and competing in European cups in 2023 which is our 100th year.”
