Welder jumps to death through court window

A welder accused of stealing iron rods valued at N40,000 has jumped to his death in an Ogba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos.

Wasiu Alowonle, 41, was charged for stealing before Magistrate O.I Raji and was remanded in Kirikiri Prisons. He was subsequently admitted to N20,000 bail and a surety.

While the court officials were working on perfectly his bail condition on Wednesday, the suspect decided to leave the court through the window, Vanguard reported.

Alowonle, who witnesses revealed was looking frustrated and pale, subsequently jumped to his death after he landed head-first into the ground.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) was said to have evacuated the remains of the deceased.
