We’ll Defeat APC Despite Federal Might – Saraki Tells Kwarans

The President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, has urged Kwara people not to be afraid of the federal might that could be deployed by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government during the 2019 general election.

He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would win in the state if the right strategies were adopted.

The senate president, who spoke during the inauguration of a 42 – member PDP Campaign Committee in the state, said he had confronted federal might on two previous occasions and won.

He promised to review the party’s strategies in the period leading to the elections to ensure victory for the PDP.

Saraki stated, “Do not be afraid. I have heard all the talks of the opposition about using federal might but we have seen it all.

“We saw it in 2003, we saw it in 2015 or don’t you know that they used federal might in 2015?

“In 2015, with federal might, we defeated them. It was you people that God used then and in 2019, with those who have come to join us, we will defeat them again.”

Saraki, who is the Chairman of Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, urged the newly-inaugurated campaign council to discharge its duties faithfully.

The senate president said he was aware of the suffering across Nigeria, having crisscrossed the length and breadth of the nation.

He admonished the people of the state to come out en masse to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, saying then would they find respite from their APC-inflicted suffering.

Saraki further appealed to aggrieved PDP members to put aside their grievances and work for the party’s victory.

He said, “ We went to Sokoto, Ibadan and other places, we know that people are suffering, it is the same thing in all the places.

“I want to plead with you people to be patient, when the PDP comes to power at the federal level, your problems will be solved.”
