The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has explained why President Muhammadu Buhari failed to notice in time that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris flouted his order to relocate to Benue state.

He said Buhari did not notice because he was “not omniscient”.

Adesina made this known on Political Platform, a programme on RayPower network on Tuesday morning.

Buhari had on Monday expressed surprise that Idris did not stay in the state till the crisis was resolved.

Speaking on why the president did not learn about the IGP’s action until stakeholders in Benue told him, Adesina said “It just tells you that the president is not omniscient.

“As president and commander-in-chief, he has other channels, but it doesn’t mean that he gets every information under the sun.”

Adesina described as incorrect the expectation that Buhari would be kept abreast of every major security situation in the country.

“It is not correct, even in the best countries in the world, the super powers, there still would be security breaches and failures. It is not correct…”
