Why I can’t leave APC – Shehu Sani

The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani, has stated the reason why he has not defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) yet.

The senator made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday evening.

Sani, who is known for his frequent resort to proverbs, said he has found it difficult to exit the APC because of what people would say about his defection.

According to him, he could be accused of falling to inducements from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should he decide to quit the APC.

Sani said, “If you defect, they will say it’s because of the Juicy carrot from the opposition. If you refuse to defect, they will say it’s because of the Juicy cassava from the ruling party. Nigeria’s Vegetarian Politics.”

Meanwhile, the senator has reacted to the news of his indefinite suspension by the APC in Tundun Wada North (Ward 6) in Kaduna South Local Government Area.

In a July 31 statement, the Ward Chairman, Ibrahim Salisu Togo, said the senator was suspended “for his various acts of misconduct and disrespectful attitudes” towards the party leadership, especially President Muhammadu Buhari, and his constituents.

This is just as the Kaduna APC Chairman, Emmanuel Jakada condemned the senator’s suspension.

He said that it could never be constitutional to suspend a party member in a “frivolous” manner.
