Why I’m Not On Twitter, Facebook Yet – Peter Obi

1 Min Read

Vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Peter Obi has revealed why he is not on any social media platform at the moment.

In a Monday statement through his Special Adviser, Valentine Obienyem, Obi said he has avoided social media platforms so far because of the fear of misrepresentation and mischief.

The statement came following Monday reports by some national newspapers which quoted a statement from a Twitter handle purportedly run by Obi.

The handle had tweeted a comment in which Obi supposedly described President Muhammadu Buhari as “lifeless”.

But Obienyem described the comment as the handiwork of impersonators and mischief makers, adding that the account is not run by Obi.

He said, “It was just brought to our notice about a certain Twitter account purportedly handled by former Governor of Anambra State and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

Obienyem advised Nigerians to “disregard any Twitter or Facebook account bearing the name of Mr. Peter Obi as he is not on any social media platform at the moment.”
