Why we won’t campaign in 2023 – PDP

2 Min Read

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it would not need to campaign for the 2023 general election.

According to the party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)’s non-performance since gaining power in 2015 has campaigned for the PDP already.

National Secretary, Senator Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri said this in Katsina ahead of the party’s ward congress election held on Saturday.

He noted Nigerians have suffered needlessly under the President Muhammadu Buhari government and would not want to continue under another APC administration.

The party scribe said the APC government has failed in its three cardinal campaign promises: economy, security and the fight against corruption.

Tsauri said, “Every Nigerian whether resident in Aso villa or anywhere else in Nigeria will certainly admit that the present administration has failed, as they couldn’t even deliver their three-point agenda: economy, security and the fight against corruption.

“Nigerians have now realised their error in voting Buhari since 2015 elections. See what happened to him in Kebbi state recently. If you recall, the three key promises of Buhari, which one has he fulfilled and which one is left?

“We are not preparing for 2023 campaigns because Buhari has campaigned for us already by his failure. If Buhari is sincere on the fight against corruption, he should probe the past administrations from 1999 till date.”

He explained that the PDP has already apologised to Nigerians for its mistakes and will correct the APC’s anomalies if voted into power in 2023.
