Wife remanded in court for beating her Mother-in-law to coma

Adenike Olowookere has been remanded in Ado-Ekiti Magistrate’s court for allegedly beating her mother-in-law to coma.

30 year-old Adenike has been charged with attempted murder after she beat her mother-in-law to the point where she lost consciousness.

Inspector Bankole Olasunkanmi who is the Prosecutor explained that the Defendant committed the offence on the 9th of September, 2019 in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti state. He also pointed out that it was not the first time the Defendant would attack her mother-in-law, Mrs. Comfort Olowookere.

Furthermore, Inspector Olasunkanmi said that the Victim, Mrs. Comfort Olowookere was still in a coma.

Inspector Olasunkanmi who pointed out that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 320 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti state, 2012, charged the court to remand the Defendant, Adenike Olowookere while awaiting legal advice from the Office of Director of Public Prosecutions.

The plea of Adenike Olowookere the Defendant, was dismissed as the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abdulhamid Lawal, remanded the defendant  and adjourned the case until October 17
