The presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has congratulated the party’s gubernatorial flagbearer in Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, on his emergence as governor-elect.
Obi spoke through a short message on his Twitter handle on early Thursday.
Otti’s victory in the March 18 election was confirmed on Wednesday following the eventual declaration of the controversial Obingwa Local Government Area results.
He polled polled a total of 175,466 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 88,526 votes.

Sharing a photo of the governor-elect, Obi said, “A while ago, I spoke with my brother, Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor-elect of Abia State and heartily congratulated him on his election.
“I am gratified that the will and wish freely expressed by the Abia electorates have been respected.
“I pray for God’s guidance and protection for the incoming Governor of God’s Own State.”
