A pastor of the Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel has been arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for illegal possession of fire arm.

Pastor Collins Obuh who is a resident pastor in Benue state, was arrested with a gun in the church yard by men of the SARS when he had allegedly tried to kill the accountant of the church, Mr. Philip Toryila during a fiery argument over money.

Investigations revealed that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the pastor reportedly ordered the church Accountant to handover church monies to him for execution of a project and he refused.

However, some sources say that the pastor wanted to use the money for a project that the church council was not aware of.

It was learnt that during the fracas, the accountant who sustained major injury on the face and other part of his body shouted loudly for rescue, a development that attracted the attention of another church official who alerted the police. The police quickly drafted some armed men to the place and arrested the pastor.

Speaking on the incident, the Head of SARS in the area, Inspector Godwin Utenge, disclosed that the pastor had allegedly unlawfully used the gun, with a serious threat that he would behead the accountant should he refuse to release the church money to him.

The victim is currently been treated in a private hospital in Katsina-Ala.
