A self-acclaimed pastor, Amos Kosini, has thrown Ogirisen community in Elume, Sapele LGA of Delta State into mourning after flogging his son to death on suspicion of witchcraft.
Kosini allegedly tortured his son, Faithful and two children of his church members, Paradise and Godspower, in his apartment under the guise of conducting deliverance from “evil spirits” on them.
While Faithful, whom he flogged with wire, died on February 6, the two other children sustained severe injuries and are in critical condition in hospital.
Three other children – Wonderful, Winner and Goodness – were also allegedly tortured by the self-acclaimed cleric.
The suspect and his wife have since taken to their heels.
According to reports, Kosini and his wife escaped last Thursday night for fear of being attacked by irate youths in the community.
However, Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa, said the incident had yet to be reported to the police.
