Nigerian diva, Temilade Openiyi aka Tems says Essence co-star Wizkid is her “brother” and someone she admires.
She added that she loves him and the feeling would never change.
She stated this in a video after an awkward moment between them which trended heavily on social media.
During the course of his album tour in London, Wizkid invited Tems on stage for a performance of their smash hit Essence on Wednesday.
As the performance progressed, a viral video shows Wizkid moving towards Tems before placing his arms around her buttocks in a bid to lift her up.
Tems rejected the move as she pulled his arms away.
The incident immediately became the subject of hot discourse on Twitter, with many accusing Wizkid of sexual harassment and others trying to defend him.
Reacting to the incident in a video that surfaced on Friday, Tems said, “All I’m going to say is Wiz is my brother, and someone I look up to.”
She added that she appreciated him “for all he’s done and his existence.”
“I want you guys to remember that he’s human, I’m human, and I love him, and that’s not gonna change,” Tems further explained.
