Wizkid has congratulated Burna Boy aka African Giant for winning the ‘Best Africa Act’ award at the 2019 MTV EMA.
Burna Boy was nominated in the ‘Best Africa Act’ category alongside fellow Nigerian artistes like Teni.
Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu , known professionally as Burna Boy, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He rose to prominence in 2012 after releasing the lead single “Like to Party” from his debut studio album, L.I.F.E (2013).
Burna Boy won the Best African Act at the MTV EMAs last night. The event took place at Seville in Spain and was hosted by Becky G.
South Africa’s Prince Kaybee and Nasty C, Harmonize from Tanzania and Togo’s duo TooFan, took home the prestigious award at a star-studded event held in Seville, Spain on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019.
Burna Boy was absent at the award event as he was holding a concert at SSE Arena in Wembley, London.

Burna Boy winning the award, Nigerian musicians have now clinched it the fourth time in a row. Wizkid won it in 2016, Davido 2017, Tiwa Savage in 2018.
However it came as a shock when Araian Grande who had the highest nominations for the 2019 MTV EMAs went home without a single award to her name. Sorry Arianators, Better luck next year!
