Woman Brutally Raped In Cell, Claims N750m Damages Against Nigeria Police

Mrs Esse Isiah Ozegbe was raped by two men inside Abraka Police Station cell. This was followed by the dismissal of a guard and demotion of Mrs Erebi Akporunor from Police Iinspector to the rank of a Sergeant.
Mrs Esse was arrested and detained on the 26th of February,following a quarrel with her neighbour. She was detained among men at the police station,where two men raped her in turn. The police men on duty paid deaf ears to her cry for help that night. The two men who raped her are currently facing trials at a magistrate court in Abraka.
Mrs Esse,through her counsel,Efe Ejomafuvwe,had instituted a suit at Federal High Court sitting in Warri,Delta State. She is claiming a sum of N750m damages against the Nigerian Police Force. Hearing in the case will take place on the 13th of June at the Federal High Court,Warri,Delta State.
