It isn’t much of a surprise nowadays for people to use items and possessions as seeds to be sown in church. Week after week, the offering bag bulges with not just money, but jewellery, shoes, watches and so on.
A woman in Delta state took it a step further, sowing a car as seed to the church, but not just any car, her husband’s car and from all indications it seems the husband wasn’t even in agreement with his car being given as an offering.
The incident happened in a church in Delta state. The woman after giving the car to the pastor, was accosted by people in the area displeased with the move.
Things almost turned ugly when a group of people came to the church threatening to burn every car in the premises down if the car keys were not returned to the woman who was then to take it back to her husband.
The Pastor seeing things on the verge of becoming really nasty, returned the car keys to the woman. The woman was also barred from coming to the church again.
The practise of seed sowing while admirable has taken an interesting turn in recent times with members going the extra mile to make sure their pastors are well taken care of.
This has in turn led to an argument on tithing and offering and just how much should be going to the pastor.
Prominent Nigerians such as controversial OAP Freeze has spoken out against the culture of constantly giving tithes to the church even when the common man’s life is not getting any better.
