Former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has finally joined a new club after rejecting offers from the USA, Asia and Europe.

The Ivorian has opted to return to Greek club Olympiakos with whom he turned out for till 2006 before heading out to Monaco to begin his highly decorated career.

Yaya Toure’s agent had earlier in the week claimed that his agent had signed for a club in London, but it seems that his mind was changed.

It was initially rumoured that the powerhouse midfielder would link up with former boss Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham, but Pellegrini poured cold water on those rumours.

Speaking on his move, Yaya Toure said via his personal website: “It is an honour to be back at Olympiacos,”

“When I left in 2006 I said I would come back and I am delighted to keep my word.

“I had offers from lots of clubs across Europe, Asia and the USA. Ultimately, I made my decision based on the special relationship I have with this incredible club.

“I am as hungry for success now as I was when I first arrived here many years ago and I cannot wait to help the club win the trophies the great fans of Olympiacos deserve.

“It is now time to let my football do the talking once again. Let’s do this!”

Yaya Toure left Olympiacos in 2006 and went on to win two La Liga titles, three Premier League titles, a Champions League crown, FIFA club World Cup, three English League cups, an FA Cup and Copa del Rey while at Barcelona and Manchester City
